For
many years Caspian has been helping business build profitable relationships
with their customers. Caspian also gives a choice of whether to
manage your contacts, email and calendar via Microsoft Outlook in
conjunction with Caspian. It's each users individual choice.
Outlook
bi-directional and seamless Integration
When
sending emails you don't need to use Outlook as Caspian is seamlessly
integrated with it, you'll see the sent email in your ‘sent box'
in your Outlook database.
Incoming
emails can also be read automatically into the central Caspian CRM
database, its actually converted into real data, rather than appended
to a record!
Integration
with Microsoft Outlook is standard functionality within Caspian.
Incoming emails are automatically read into Caspian from Outlook
with attachments automatically saved. Caspian searches for the contact's
email address against the database and creates a logbook (a permanent
record) against the contact. This means that you can easily see
those emails that are from prospects and customers and respond to
them quickly.
Attachments
are also saved against the record and made part of the Caspian document
management. Now anyone within your business/department can see the
information without worrying about the personal or corporate Outlook
database.
If
a prospect requests some literature you can quickly respond via
Caspian Fulfilment module and/or the Caspian Document Management
that enables you to attach your literature to the record and this
is automatically turned into an attachment when you click email.
But
what if you want to keep using Outlook in the same way as you do
now?
Not
a problem. You can now choose which areas of Outlook you would like
to use and update information from Caspian into Outlook and vice-versa.
So basically information you have in Caspian you can also have in
Outlook for everyone to use or just those users you choose.
Caspian
and Outlook calendars will now work together. So even if some users
use Caspian and others use Outlook, you will still be able to see
all meetings etc. All of your Caspian contacts can be in Outlook
as well.
Microsoft
Office Integration
Word
Producing
a personalised letter in Word just takes two simple clicks when
using Caspian. The letter produced in Word does not have to be saved
as a Word file either! The entire content of the letter can automatically
get saved in the Caspian central database, for ever and future use
or reference. If you did want to save the Word document, you can
also use Caspian Document Management to track the file and provide
very fast and simple access to it for any authorised user.
Caspian
notes can also be spell checked using Word or its internal spell
checker. As you would expect, any information from Word can be copied
and pasted into Caspian notes/memo fields.
Document
Embedding
Using
Microsoft SQL Server database or Oracle databases, you can also
embed any document into the central Caspian database. The embedding
also enables dynamic edits/changes to the document and these are
also available to any other user with authorised access.
Microsoft
Excel
Excel
is a powerful presentation tool and that's how Caspian uses it.
Most people know the basics of Excel including opening files and
formatting the data, but we believe that most people would rather
not even do this! So Caspian provides incredible seamless integration
with Excel where you don't have to do ‘anything' but one single
click including to launch the Excel software.
Microsoft
Exchange Server Integration
Microsoft
Exchange Server from 5.5 and later can have Caspian COM components
used with Server Event scripting. Microsoft Exchange Server Scripting
Agents allow server-side scripts to be run as a result of events
occurring in folders. These scripts can be written in Microsoft
Visual Basic Scripting Edition, JavaScript or any other installed
scripting engine. Events such as posting, editing or deleting a
message can have scripts associated with them and can take place
in private folders (mailboxes) or public folders.
This
allows business logic to be implemented on the server for integrating
Caspian with E-Mail, for example logging e-mails in the Caspian
database without the need for the Caspian client.
The
Microsoft Outlook information integrated as standard is generally
the information local to the current user. This is because local
folders are standard to Microsoft Outlook, while public folders
will vary depending on implementation.
Advanced
integration is used to manage Exchange Public folder information
with the Caspian database. The engine for this integration process
is the Caspian DataPump application, which may be scheduled to regularly
import and export data between Caspian and other data sources.
Caspian
DataPump templates are implemented to incorporate business rules
for integrating information between Microsoft Exchange and the Caspian
MS SQL Server and Oracle databases.
